Bug ID: 165951
Summary: Constant crashes in Writer while moving text, images
or copying online text into new documents- No errors
reported
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 4.2.4.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Writer constantly crashes while copying text, graphics, create tables or move
data from online sources while creating research documents. I may have at any
time more than one document I am working on at a time. Also crashes on a new
doc without any import from other sources.
The only positive side of this issue is the LibreOffice will recover documents
open when it crashes. So far that is.
These crashes happened on other prior releases of LibreOffice too.
Happens on the windows version 10 pro with 64 GB memory
Version: 24.2.5.2 (x86) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: bffef4ea93e59bebbeaf7f431bb02b1a39ee8a59
CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: CL threaded
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start writer
2. File- new doc
3. Add or copy text into new doc and then unexpected crash
Actual Results:
1.Standard install, regular use, no additional feature installed, start writer
2.Open programs writer, open file, open existing or new document, start editing
or moving text to doc and then crashes
3.restart writer, auto recovery starts and all docs will open after recovery,
then it will continue to crash randomly, have to restart writer and recover
again.
Expected Results:
Writer will work for awhile but will unexpectedly crash without any warning.
After doc recovery it works for awhile and will crash on no specific task
during editing.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
This issue has been around from previous releases and I thought the latest
release was going to fix or stabilize this version.
