I would guess it depends on the resolution? Installed fonts? The moon phase?
(No, since half a month have passed. :-))
It does not depend on the window size, nor the zoom.


But... kind of good news: I upgraded to

and the testfile doesn't break anymore. I'm not quite happy because it feels
like some complex dependency on the environment, but otherwise this bug can be
probably closed since nobody, not even myself, can repro anymore.
