--- Comment #35 from ady <[email protected]> --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #34) > I'd use the same size as in the document. No special resizing, and > definitely no UI bloat. Please clarify that statement. What exactly do you mean with "same size as in document"? IMNSHO, the customization (with whichever method) of the formula bar input window box is for the user/system, not for the document itself. Each spreadsheet file has multiple cells (and Styles) with properties, that are to be kept (unmodified) when I send a file to someone else. OTOH, the way I would customize the formula bar input window box is for me, not to be imposed on other future users of the spreadsheet on other systems. What works for me (regarding the formula bar input window box) might not be adequate for others. The number of requests for different types of customization for the formula bar input window box, and the opposing desires/needs clearly indicate that this aspect of the UI requires much more flexibility (using whichever method you can think relevant), not restrictions. What about having some special/specific Style? It could be based on the Default Style (or based on whichever current default properties are currently applied to the content of the formula bar input window box), _not_ for saving to the spreadsheet document nor aimed at cells. A user changes such specific Style (say, some fixed-width mono-type font with a size of 14pt, or whatever). Save the Style, then restart Calc, which should recognize the new Style to be used for the content of the formula bar input window box. Would that work (or something similar)? FWIW and as a side-note, apparently MS is finally accepting the use of fixed-width fonts for the formula bar (after decades of users requesting for such option). I am not saying this particular change is wanted (or welcome) by every user, but surely it is one popular request. Font type and font size are both frequent requests for flexibility/customization of the formula bar input window box. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
