Don't know if I understood right.
Opened a new Writer document.
Write text content for 2 paragraphs.
Set in sidebar the format for one of these paragraphs to "Preformatted Text" on
the sidebar.
When leaving sidebar "Preformatted Text" will scroll up so I could see it has
been chosen.
Click on the other paragraph I have created. Sidebar scrolls to "Default
Paragraph Style". Will show the style of the paragraph.
Set the paragraph to "Header".
When leaving sidebar "Header" will scroll up so I could see it has been chosen.

Last chosen style will be on top of the list every time.

This is the same behavior in LO 24.2.2.2 on OpenSUSE 15.6 64bit rpm Linux.

Indeed scrolling is a little bet confusing here, because we will see the last
clicked entry without any problems. Lets wait for arguments …

I will set this one to "NEW"
