I think this is a good idea. Bumping means apps _have_ to recompile
anyway. If we don't remove old API, there's no absolute reason for
apps to be recompiled, so in fact we'd do a _good_ thing by not
bumping.

Then indeed: bump, release 0.8, and be done.
