I guess the question was about the instruction:

in 6.6 "Creating Essential Files and Symlinks"

Shouldn't we remove .la files from /tools/lib at the end of chapter 5, too?

I was just starting to do an update for LFS with the new packages. I'll see of this is useful at the same time.
