When I said "based-on", I meant "using similar steps to" - for cross-lfs you would want to look at their development version, start at http://trac.clfs.org/wiki/read - that is using gcc-7.1. Obviously you need to change the toolchain to build for x32, as well as any old packages (if there are any) which need changes for x32.
