Hi,
OK. The reason I started reading this book in the first place was after stumbling on it while searching the web to get information on how to build a small system. My goal is to get a tiny custom system (no desktop, no plethora of libraries I will never use). The most interesting question in the FAQ linked to above gives two links: http://linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-support/2001-October/000202.html http://linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-support/2002-June/007255.html Both of those links are dead. Need updating. You can find the post by browsing the archives. BTW has anybody got a copy of unios? http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/From-PowerUp-To-Bash-Prompt-HOWTO-2.html >From Power Up To Bash Prompt: >Hardware<http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/From-PowerUp-To-Bash-Prompt-HOWTO-2.html> www.tldp.org 2. Hardware. When you first turn on your computer it tests itself to make sure everything is in working order. This is called the ``Power on self test''. I guess only the greatest veterans still have a copy of this. Can't find anything online. Pitty. Just what I'm looking for. Daer Samej
