Normally, I'm a believer in "if you update the toolchain, rebuild the system", but for patches like these and the same glibc version, I've given this a try. Seems to have worked, although when I rebooted afterwards '/' couldn't be unmounted and was remounted r/o. ISTR I often see that in system builds, and anyway, that's what journalling is for.
