You don't absolutely need to use git if you don't want to... the web interface
of github is usable for simple edits such as adding a profile to the
appropriate XML database file. You could also create an issue and attach XML
files (but you'll probably need to give them a ".txt" extension for that
purpose) while you're waiting for other access.

He hasn't been terribly active on the project lately, so if you don't get an
immediate response, don't take it personally. Again, with the Owncloud server,
you don't absolutely need to get an Owncloud client set up in order to
contribute; I actually prefer using the web interface, since some of the
uploads include large numbers of large RAW files, and the server seems to be
somewhat bandwidth-limited. I typically just download the files for a
submission that I'm actually planning to work on.
Nice to see a software vendor offering to contribute to the project!
