that is a library that does USB via generic interfaces to USB,
on Linux via usbfs.
Then the Linux kernel driver would be no longer needed for Linux
(but it would probably have a tendency to get in the way),
and it would also be much easier to get at the extra functionality
like higher bit rates.
Sounds good.
However, forleJOS 3.0 I'd think such a change in the code base should
not be taken into consideration due to the development and testing costs
- maybe it could be a point for 3.1 (if such a release would ever come
into being).
