I noticed something strange. I do this:
$ PYTHONPATH=lib/ python
>>> import ledger
>>> j_file = r"/mnt/e/Data/Invest/data/ledger/xxxxxxxxxx.j"
>>> journal = ledger.read_journal(j_file)
>>> journal = ledger.read_journal(j_file)

I can only read the  journal once.
