Hi Robert,

I was not able to reproduce a failing move operation on Windows server 2019 (for a computer account). Please check if the entry has any subnodes. In this case the move will be converted to a copy+delete (subtrees cannot be moved) which will fail because of naming conflicts.

Copy is not possible because Windows does not allow to have e.g. the same computer name in two places of the LDAP tree. There is a button to copy hosts/users/groups/... in the list view (beginning of each row). This allows to copy only attributes that do not need to be unique.

Please note that management console might not run LDAP commands but use other MS protocols.

Best regards

Roland

Hello,

since the last update to LamPro 8.3 we can't move or copy objects in the LamPro
treeview from one OU to another. It reports back:

Could not create DN: CN=XX-xxxxx,CN=Computers,DC=hq,DC=xxxxx-xxxx,DC=de.
0000202F: samldb: spn[HOST/computername.xx.xxxxxxxxx.de] would cause a conflict

This object is a new client system after the first installation of Windows 10
and needs to be moved to another group for management, so it didn't exist
before in both groups. In the Microsoft Management-Console ADUC the move to
another group is without problems or errors possible.

Best regards,
Robert Dietl
