I’m finding this conversation fascinating as a weaver, bobbin lacemaker and a Kumihista (maker of Kumihimo). There is a fascinating conjunction with these techniques. Kumihimo definitely utilizes plain weave and twill structures when done on a Takadai or Ayatakadai.
