A suggestion about spiral bindings on books. I recently had a paperback sewing 
book converted from a standard binding to a spiral binding at a copy shop in my 
local office supply store. It was a large book, but the cost was only $6 US. 
That included having the covers laminated so they would hold up better.

The only caveat for lace books would be to make sure the inner margin is wide 
enough to allow the holes to be punched without interfering with the text or 
prickings.
