Lace Games:

Cindy Tiger (with the help of a co-conspirator or 2) concocted a lace ID
game for one of the RMLG holiday potluck parties in the past. I seem to
recall we teamed up in a couple of teams, and had photos (enlargements) of
lace to match with names.

It was dastardly :-)

A lot of fun, but it sure was a brain teaser.

My very first lace game with RMLG (way back in about 1992) was Reindeer lace
- and I think that was a Penny Boston-Cindy Tiger creation too. We had
spools of wide ribbon, and we were the bobbins, with our arms being the
pins. We kind of did OK, until we got to half stitch and making a spider
:-) When one is the bobbin, it's a challenge. We had people of all sorts
of lace persuasion participating, and we had a lot of laughs doing it.

New lacer: There are a number of groups and lacemakers all around
Vancouver, and in BC, who are on Arachne, so I'm sure someone from around
there will pop up on the list with more specific info, and be able to help
you find some help close to where you are. Several have travelled down to
Seattle for the Lacemakers of Puget Sound Lace Day in the past, and there is
also a lace group that meets in Bellingham once a month - don't know if any
of our Canadian neighbours attend that group - but I know it's an active
group.

Cheers,
Helen, in chilly Duvall, WA, where we woke up to a dusting of snow
