Hello, all -
I am fascinated to hear about Elena's YouTube project and can't wait to see
where it goes!
I just thought I might share with all of you about Flosstube.  Flosstube is
simply videos created and then posted on YouTube by stitchers, almost all
cross stitchers.  I think there are also names like "BookTube" and
"GardenTube" - i.e. ways that creators can name and tag their videos such that
others with similar interests can find them (as well as getting YouTubes
algorithms to make good suggestions as well.)
I make Flosstube videos and have from time to time shared about my bobbin lace
love as well as my stitching projects.  I will say that I am more the anomaly
than the rule in Flosstube world, in that i don't just do cross stitch but
rather other types (blackwork, canvas work, etc.) as well.  Any time that I
do include bobbin lace in my videos, there are inevitably people who comment
about it, love learning about it, make connections to relatives or friends
that they remember making lace.  While I have not talked about bobbin lace
during these last few months, there are some older videos where I do and even
once or twice where I demonstrate it.  I don't have a good camera set-up for
that, but one of these days, I'll do something about that.  (Thanks, Alex,
for sharing what you use for teaching classes!)
If you are interested, here is my YouTube channel:
 https://www.youtube.com/user/SixthGradeFieldTrip
(yes, I know that link includes the words "SixthGradeFieldTrip" - long
story.)
The link should get you to my channel.  As you will see in the thumbnails, I
do a number of cross stitch designs based on lace.  I design and sell my
patterns under the name WorksByABC (you can find me on Etsy under that name).
That should have been my channel name - most Flosstubers use names that
include "stitching" or something - but, again, long story why I'm just Arlene
Cohen on YouTube.
Here's a video where I am making lace:

Again, I love when I can share my love of bobbin lace to many in my Flosstube
world who may be hearing/seeing it for the first time!
