I would like to take a few minutes to thank all the people who gave so much time and effort to putting on the World Lace Congress. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute! I took a wire lace class with Lauran Sundin and got the added bonus of having Kim Davis as an added teacher. It was like getting a 2 for 1 gift! So much fun to talk lace with two such accomplished teachers!
It was very thoughtful to have a tea break and lunch provided. That meant we could concentrate on our lace and not worry about having to rush out and find something to eat. Plus I sat at tables with people I did not know and made new friends. I really appreciated this. The exhibits that were mounted were really spectacular! So much inspiration! And so much work put into organizing them. I had to go back multiple times to try to take everything in. I was very impressed with the exhibit at St Gilles church with the ecclesiastical lace. Then of course there was the shopping. Needless to say I did my part to support the vendors. And Jeri organized a lovely Arachne dinner. I did not have enough vacate time to participate in the tours, but I have heard from friends that they are having a great time and seeing LOTS of lace!
