Subject: Attention Weavers - 1,000-Year-Old Silk Shirt

Dear Arachne subscribers and my personal friends (bcc'd), This came to me
from a young non-lacemaker. Hope you think this is close enough to our
lace interests to share. Some of us are, after all, interested in silk,
design, color, history, conservation of textiles, and rare textiles that
make our hearts sing. Photos are wonderful, but when I tried to print
this article they did not appear. If you want to learn more, you could
search Sotheby's London auction, and if you find something irresistible -
please share another address.

>From The New York Times:

This 1,000-Year-Old Shirt Has a $700,000 Story to Tell

Why would a shirt be worth so much money? Find out.
