No, Jeri. Though you and I rarely disagree, this time we do! I don't want a name that suits the stationery. If anything, I want stationery to suit the name. And the name should have pizzazz, gallop, life. "International Organization of Lacers" is awful. And while we're getting rid of old encumbrances, let's get rid of "lacers" too. We aren't "lacers." We're lacemakers! Come on, Jeri, wake up the old Madison Avenue and find us a name! -- Aurelia

Dear Devon,

That would have been me. And perhaps others? I recall saying that the
initials "IOLI" would not have to be changed with this name and that perhaps a lot
of stationery that was out-and-about would not have to be replaced
immediately.


I recall being very active in support of a name that represented what we were
and what we wanted to become.  The present name is very unfriendly to the
young people we wish to attract, and misleading to the public and press.

Having a Madison Avenue public relations background, and having learned that
names applied to a product, service, company, or organization, are very
important to long-term success,
