And just to cheer you up in the UK - the big storm that hit Texas with rain, snow and tornadoes, just sailed through Canada dumping about 25-30 cm of snow with strong winds on Ottawa and then on to through the eastern part of Canada is on its way to you. We'd had no snow for Christmas and had just a little scattering of snow late on Boxing Day, but we surely made up for it yesterday.

Malvary in a snowy, cold (only -9) Ottawa where we have a day of forecasted freezing drizzle, and I'm waiting for the snow-clearing chappie to come and shovel out the end of the drive from where the plough has gone by and dumped a 2 ft high snowbank.
