In my case I was not able to open PNG files anymore, neither with an image viewer like Gwenview nor with Gimp. Gwenviews crash reports were pointing to libexiv2-27 as the culprit.
I downgraded the package that was indeed upgraded today (2026-03-18) and everything works out again. In case someone want's to know how to do this, this is what I did: ` sudo apt install libexiv2-27=0.27.6-1build1 sudo apt-mark hold libexiv2-27 ` System information: Operating System: Kubuntu 24.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.12 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0 Qt Version: 5.15.13 Kernel Version: 6.8.0-106-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2144739 Title: Repeated kioslave5 crashes (inside KExiv2) after most recent update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kio/+bug/2144739/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
