You have been subscribed to a public bug: Recently, Akonadi starts automatically when Kubuntu 23.10 starts, wasting RAM space, CPU cycles, battery life, etc. when it's not used. This didn't happen before, Kubuntu worked without needing Akonadi. In /var/log/syslog we can see, for example: kalendarac[2398]: org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Running DB initializer
