Sometimes, I have two instances of KMyMoney open at the same time, looking at different data files. On several occasions, I have had the experience of closing one of the two open files (I think, but am not certain, that the problem happens when I close the file I had opened earlier.) If I then do an online download of transactions (not direct connect,) with the browser set to open that download file (ofx or csv) in KMyMoney, it complains that the file is already opened in another instance. Yes, it is open in the only running instance of KMyMoney, and I want to import the downloaded data into it. Instead, it opens a new instance of the program with no data file open, and obviously still can't import the download.

I suspect that when I clos the first open instance of KMM, it changes some configuration status so that it thinks no instance is running, even though one is. So, when the browser tries to open KMyMoney, instead of just switching to the open instance, it tried to launch a new instance.

Hopefully my explanation makes sense, and someone can point out exactly why it is behaving as it is, and even better, if there is an easy fix. Right now, the only "fix" I have discovered is to close and then reopen KMyMoney.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Jack
