There is no problem with the AppImage. An AppImage version *never* contained
KMyMoney specific transalations (only the standard KDE translations are
contained). It was probably by coincidence that you had a complete version
installed on your system which served the translations and were picked up by
the AppImage. In case it is still present, it may not work with 5.1.0 anymore.
I change that into a wishlist item to include translations into the AppImage.
