Then each week transfer the money into the KMyMoney account so it didn't show up in my check register. Then as I bought fuel, I would transfer from the envelope account back into the checking account to cover that expense. But the software wouldn't allow my reports to show transfers since I de-selected some of the categories. Thus the report was useless for how we want to budget. I got around this problem by setting up the envelopes as categories, and each week the money gets withdrawn so we can see how much we have at the end of each week after the bills are paid. Then when it comes time to pay from an envelope I will enter a withdrawal for (Exxon - $50), and then enter a deposit (envelope, auto fuel - $50). Then when I run the report the next time it will show I have $125 in the auto fuel envelope.
