Hi,

Thanks for your answers. At least I know that it's possible to do it without having a complete independent install (probably in a vm).

If you can find the info to do the side by side installation, it would be really helpful. And yes, I'll be sure to keep my backup working.

Hello,

I'm trying to test the kf5 version and maybe develop a bit on it,

as explain in the build instruction, KMyMoney need to be installed in
the usual path to find all its resources. The thing is I don't want
to use the development version with my current accounting.

So the question is what is the best way to test and develop on
KMyMoney while style using the stable version?

Just to provide a very quick response, it IS possible to install a
testing version (Frameworks based) along side a stable version (KDE4
based). However, it is not trivial, and it will take me a bit to dig
out the indstructions, as I've got it all done by scripts now. The
easy part is running the new version with a copy of your .kmy file, not
the original, so you keep them separate in case of any problems.
... and make sure to have backups of your data.
