That's OK, but it's best if you reply to the list, as then others are kept informed, and also may be able to assist. I don't know if you have subscribed to the list, so am copying to you in case.
Right, the absence of the CSV plugin does sometimes happen after a new install. Yo need to run 'kbuildsycoca4', in that case, to ensure the system is aware of it. However, what I tend to do is just to exit KMyMoney and reload it, and that always seems to work, at least for me.
Try that and see if that helps. If you launch from the console, you should see a message -
... KMyMoney csvimport plugin loaded onlineTask available "org.kmymoney.creditTransfer.sepa" KMyMoney printcheck plugin loaded KMyMoney csvexport plugin loaded KMyMoney iCalendar plugin loaded ... Allan

Now, the importer plugin should have loaded. What do you see? You should see either a window with three tabs, for Banking, Investment and Settings. Or, it could be the wizard version, with an empty table in the top half, and the lower half in the form of a wizard, with a list of its stages on the left, and on the right brief instructions for this page, two radio buttons (Banking, Investment), and below that an empty combo box. You need to select either Banking or Investment, and the combo should open, inviting you to add a new profile. This could be the name of your bank or whatever. Enter that and click enter. At the foot, there should be three buttons (Back, Select File and Cancel). Do you see those? If so, click Select File and navigate to your CSV file and select it. It should now appear in the table at the top. OK, how did that go? Allan
