Hello,

I think you don't understand what I mean.

Firstly, I created file with kMyMoney under Linux Ubuntu platform.
I use it every day.
It contains some datas. It's not empty (so).

I would like change something on it with MS Windows platform.

I launch kMyMoney on this platform.
I open with File/open... this file.

kMyMoney ask me choose devise.
I select Euro and valid.
After it, It like it is empty, but is not it !

Do you understand better what I mean ?

Thank for your answer.

Best regard.

Ok, Stephane, we now have a bit more of the picture.

So, you opened an existing file, created on Ubuntu.

Now, have you used the Euro previously with this file?
Was this the first time you used it on Windows?
Had you copied the resource file from your Ubuntu system to the Windows system? If not, the the Windows .kmy file will not be aware of any settings previously used. So, you should now copy the resource file from Ubuntu to Windows. On Ubuntu, it will probably be ~/.kde/share/config/kmymoneyrc and on Windows. $KDEHOME/share/config/kmymoneyrc.

I suspect that you getting the message to input your currency was the new Windows file starting to be created, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, try what I've suggested, and see if that helps.

Allan

Before you can open a data file, you first need to create it, so you
should first select 'New'. This will guide you through the process of,
firstly, selecting your currency, then your account name for the new
account you are making. Just follow these steps then, for your country,
select an appropriate set of account/categories to use.

You should find more detail in the handbook under the Help menu.

Get back to us if you still have problems, but be as specific as
possible in detailing the steps you have taken, and what you entered,
and the result.

Don't worry about your English! You're doing fine, and if we don't
understand we'll do our best to help.
