account, thus i had not recognised that in fact it was the ongoing
presence of the stock account that was the cause of the main Investment

mine tonight, when i read your msg, I was able to close the stock
account & then voila immediately also close the main Investment account

No worries! It would probably help if a tooltip message was provided to
explain the reason.
In your interest in removing details no longer required, you may find
that the underlying security is still showing up. If you wish to hide
that, then that depends on whether you wish to retain pricing information.

I see a few investment accounts with zero balance. Is there a particular
one you have difficulty with? If so, what is its account name in the anon
file? If it has more than one stock account, which one?
Usually, if you need to close an investment, it is necessary to delete all
its prices.
It's not necessary to delete the prices, these [1] are the only
conditions that need to be fulfilled to be able to close an account.
In this case condition 2 was not true. One must first close the child
accounts then the parent account.
