There is no solution at the moment, I'm afraid.

I would suggest you raise a bug report with severity - wishlist, on https://bugs.kde.org/, to ensure it is not overlooked

This is not a bug but by design. However, I've wondered about this myself several times, as I don't know the rationale for the decision. I suspect that originally, its expected use was to match a manually imported transaction with one later imported from a bank statement.

Is there some other reason why a user should not be able to match two transactions that he knows to be the same? I keep bumping into this restriction.
