Subject: matching imported OFX transactions
To: kmymo...@kde.org <mailto:kmymo...@kde.org>
Hello,
What is the best way to match transactions of transfers between accounts
that have been imported into different accounts via OFX?
In Account01 when I edit a transaction to say it came from/to Account02
a duplicate transfer record is created in the other account.
In the online manual it says that it is not possible to use the Match
feature only between an imported transaction and a hand-entered
transaction, and that one shouldn't delete imported transactions because
doing so removes the hidden transaction-id attribute, thereby allowing
subsequent imports to recreate the deleted transaction. My experience so
far bears this out.
Sooo, what other strategies can I use?
I'm using Kymoney 4.6.2 on Windows 7 x64.
thanks,

I think it did make it through, but the devs have only limited time
available at the moment.
I'm not a dev., and I don't use OFX, but the problem you have is
actually, at least in part, a general problem and not OFX-specific.
Pending what could be a non-trivial fix, I think you have no alternative
but to delete one of the two entries. Or, might it work if you edited
one of the transactions to have a zero amount? The id would remain, and
balances would possibly be OK.
Allan
