The option is hidden behind an ill-chosen name.
To be able to choose individual investments of an account, you have to go to
Settings > General > Filter. Check on Show equity accounts.
Then, on the reports you can select individual investments.
This is on the latest version. I don't think all of this was available in 4.5.3
