It's definitely worth it to upgrade since 4.6.2 is 4.6.1 with a lot of bugs
fixed (checkout the release notes
http://kmymoney2.sourceforge.net/release-4.6.2.html).

AFAIK KDE is safe. If I'm not mistaking multiple kioslave instances communicate
with the KIO scheduler trough local TCP/IP ports and that's why the firewall
think that they try to connect to the internet.

All your data is in the *.kmy file which is a compressed xml file.
