The latter is a very welcome feature and I'm glad that Thomas has written it into kmymoney, but the assignment of Categories is what takes most of my time when I'm importing bank statements. I had an idea that Categories could be treated like mail filter rules in an email application (eg. Setup a "Grocery" rule that applies the "Grocery" category to anything that matches "Kroger" or "Aldi" and "Debit > $10", etc..) but that might require much more effort to add.
