You assign a category which is actually the second account. In case there is no category assignment in Quicken and one cannot be created automatically, you will be warned about it in the transaction list with a little icon next to the transaction in question to show the user that there is an inbalance (@Jack: I did not find a screen- shot foor this in the documentation). p.s.
