I did a little debugging earlier. The first time InvestTransactionEditor::slotUpdateActivity is called, on creating a new investment transaction, the labels are present. Then, when I select 'Buy', and it is entered again, the messages occur. I couldn't see them deleted anywhere. Usually, when I do something like that, it's because a second object has been created. It's quite possible that I haven't noticed this previously because I've not been running from the console when creating investment items.
