Christopher, 1) I removed that tag beacuse you inserted a more detailed one, namely kernel-bug-exists-upstream-3.18.1, so my tag looked to me redundant (maybe I shouldn't have removed it: I am unfamiliar with launchpad)
2) As you asked me, I tested a live cd with ubuntu 12.04.0 (amd64) and even there I can not use the dongle: you can insert the more appropriate tag. 3) I don't know if it can be of any use, but I will say it anyway: I have another bluetooth usb dongle. With the other device I can connect without problem to the telephone. Both with 12.04.4 and with my usual 14.04. If it can be of any help, I can insert the output of lsusb -v for both devices. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1403473 Title: Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode) Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS Release: 14.04 $ apt-cache policy bluez bluez: Installato: 4.101-0ubuntu13 Candidato: 4.101-0ubuntu13 Tabella versione: *** 4.101-0ubuntu13 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status $ apt-cache policy blueman blueman: Installato: 1.23-git201403102151-1ubuntu1 Candidato: 1.23-git201403102151-1ubuntu1 Tabella versione: *** 1.23-git201403102151-1ubuntu1 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status My smartphone is paired but is not connected, so I can not send nor receive files.
