This seems to be related to Debian Bug#767204: request: backport i2c-hid suspend, resume fix from 3.17 to 3.16, which was fixed in Debian in linux 3.16.7-1 (https://lists.debian.org/debian- kernel/2014/10/msg00526.html).
I noticed the same bug in a friends notebook (Acer VN7-571G).
