Brightness doesn't change anymore in X.Org / GNOME Shell in 14.10. It stays on maximum (10) and sometimes the less brightness down/less key makes it go to 9 or 6. Each time I press the brightness down/less key, the overlay with brightness setting shows up (so the key works. I can set brightness to any level with echo 1 >/sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness echo 2 >/sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness ... echo 10 >/sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness and the display responds properly and I can read out the value with cat /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness but changing it with keys only goes from 10 to 9 or 10 to 6. This used to work in older versions of Ubuntu. Please fix this and let me know how I can fix this temporarily. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Status: Incomplete ** Tags: 14.10 bot-comment -- Brightness doesn't change anymore in X.Org / GNOME Shell in 14.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1400050 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
