Dmitri John Ledkov, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-13-notebook-ideapad an update to your BIOS is available (66cn55ww). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
Once the BIOS is updated, then please mark this report Status Confirmed. Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-66cn55ww ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1398597 Title: ideapad yoga needs psmouse reload Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: So, my often made fun of, lenovo ideapad yoga, since sometime in the 14.10 development cycle needs an extra help to get the trackpad working. On boot the mouse pointer is not visible. If I open terminal and do "rmmod psmouse; modprobe psmouse" the pointer magically appears on first touch. Please help me as to how I can bisect / track down what the issue here is. Sometime in the past it was working reliably.
