Alternate CD install fails to show anything during disk check or install. After the initial menu the screen goes blank and does not show the usual progress bar. Afterwards I tried the Desktop (Live) CD which did show the graphical progress bar till about 70%, then it went blank again. This happened in Safe Graphics mode too. I let it continue to install with a blank screen in Safe Graphics mode, and it did install now, but unfortunately it is stuck in 1024x768 on my 1280x800 display without further options in the display settings. Also I need the alternate install to work to be able to install in an LVM partition. Edit: not Kubuntu specific, today I tried Ubuntu 9.04 Alternate with the same result. 8.04 version installs fine.
