Since a couple of weeks I get this low memory corrupted error. Memtest (from Grub) is OK, so I ignored the issue. But since 2 weeks the poweroff hangs every now and then and I am a bit concerned now. I am running the same distro also on 2 (64 bit) desktops with no problems whatsooever Regards -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1385038 Title: Corrupted low memory error on Ubuntu 14.04 Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I've read the forum post here regarding this error: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1557604 but it's from 2010 and so am reporting this as a bug. I'm receiving relatively infrequent messages in the terminal of "Corrupted low memory at ffff88000006598 (6598 phys) = e50000000000" across multiple reboots. The error is especially prevalent when system load is heavy. Memtest through vendor bios checks out as OK. System boots fine, hangs occassionally, and I have to killall -u from a rescue terminal to have the GUI restart Description: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS Release: 14.04 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: linux-image-3.13.0-37-generic 3.13.0-37.64 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-37.64-generic 3.13.11.7 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-37-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.5 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: theron 3780 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: theron 3780 F.... pulseaudio CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'iw' CurrentDesktop: X-Cinnamon Date: Fri Oct 24 13:41:46 2014 EcryptfsInUse: Yes HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=63f00a53-ffe4-4c19-8942-1b27433b06f1 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-10-13 (375 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Server 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Release amd64 (20130423.1) MachineType: Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC ProcFB: 0 radeondrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.13.0-37-generic root=UUID=dd86853c-629d-48a9-bf9c-6db5f18a211a ro nomdmonddf nomdmonisw nomdmonddf nomdmonisw RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-3.13.0-37-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-3.13.0-37-generic N/A linux-firmware 1.127.7 SourcePackage: linux UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to trusty on 2014-05-02 (174 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 09/14/2010 dmi.bios.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.bios.version: F.13 dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: 1449 dmi.board.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.board.version: 65.2E dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.chassis.version: N/A dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnHewlett-Packard:bvrF.13:bd09/14/2010:svnHewlett-Packard:pnHPPaviliondv7NotebookPC:pvr0589110100242B10010020100:rvnHewlett-Packard:rn1449:rvr65.2E:cvnHewlett-Packard:ct10:cvrN/A: dmi.product.name: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC dmi.product.version: 0589110100242B10010020100 dmi.sys.vendor: Hewlett-Packard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1385038/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
