I have found that I only have to run 'modprobe b43'. Why not make the package installation scripts run the modprobe command(s) and save people the need to reboot just for wireless? root@bjorn-laptop:/home/bjorn# lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu natty (development branch) Release: 11.04 root@bjorn-laptop:/home/bjorn# apt-cache policy firmware-b43-installer firmware-b43-installer: Installed: 4.150.10.5-5 Candidate: 4.150.10.5-5 Version table: *** 4.150.10.5-5 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/multiverse amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/b43-fwcutter/+bug/710357/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
