Some windows are using 1360x768 which is what I want Some windows revert to max resolution which is barely readable. ubuntu utopic unity has no such problem. Set resolution to 1360x768 and it stays that way. Example this launchpad bug screen is way too small, switch to terminal and it's fine. jerry@Lenovo2:~$ ./lsb DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=14.10 DISTRIB_CODENAME=utopic DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu Utopic Unicorn (development branch)" Linux Lenovo2 3.16.0-21-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Mon Oct 6 16:00:43 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux model name : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz model name : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10 Package: linux-image-3.16.0-21-generic 3.16.0-21.28 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.16.0-21.28-generic 3.16.4 Uname: Linux 3.16.0-21-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.7-0ubuntu5 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Thu Oct 9 17:56:50 2014 InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-10-09 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-GNOME 14.10 "Utopic Unicorn" - Alpha amd64 (20140923) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.16.0-21-generic root=UUID=f90e053f-e313-4474-90da-5b91bf610d0d ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 SourcePackage: linux UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 01/10/2011 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: 5CKT69AUS dmi.board.name: LENOVO dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: NONE dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr5CKT69AUS:bd01/10/2011:svnLENOVO:pn6234A1U:pvrThinkCentreM58p:rvnLENOVO:rnLENOVO:rvrNONE:cvnLENOVO:ct3:cvrNONE: dmi.product.name: 6234A1U dmi.product.version: ThinkCentre M58p dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1379546/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
