I'd like to perform a reverse bisect to figure out which commit upstream fixes this regression. It would be very helpful to know the last kernel that had this issue and the first kernel that did not.
Can you test the following kernels and report back? We are looking for the earliest kernel version that doesn't have this bug: v3.16: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.16-utopic If v3.16 exhibits the bug then test v3.17-rc5: v3.17-rc5: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.17-rc5-utopic/ If v3.16 does not exhibit the bug then test v3.15: v3.15: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.15-utopic/ You don't have to test every kernel, just up until the first kernel that does not have this bug. Thanks in advance! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1359997 Title: Touchpad of HP Chromebook 14 no longer works with latest kernel Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After the recent upgrade to the 3.13.0-34 kernel the touchpad on the HP Chromebook 14 with Ubuntu 14.04 installed via chrubuntu no longer works.
