Does the panic go away if you boot the prior kernel version? You can do
this by selecting it from the GRUB menu under advance options.

Bug description:
I have a Dell xps l501x laptop and i have ubuntu on it. Its all fine
but when i upgrade the 13.10 to 14.04 all was great, then when i
updated it, the kernel had change and when i launch ubuntu with grub
it says KERNEL PANIC, and i cant do anything so i installed again the
14.04 ubuntu and i cant update because of the kernel panic.
