It suggests emptying the recycle bin (I have) and using 'sudo apt-get clean' to remove temporary packages from previous installations (I have). That doesn't work. Also, I only installed 14.04 fairly recently (in the last month) from scratch (no upgrade) using the default installation options for partitioning etc (as far as I know) so it shouldn't have filled up like this. I also ran 'sudo apt-get autoremove' then 'sudo apt-get clean' but no success either. I'm on a 256 GB SSD (Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition) with an encrypted harddrive. I know I *could* spend some time hunting around for instructions to remove old kernel packages from the command line but there really aren't that many there and it's a pretty poor user experience if that is required. I'm guessing that's not the intention so I can only think that this is a bug...
