Upgraded to Ubuntu 14.04, formatted and reinstalled 14.04, restored from backup, installed NVidia drivers and Gnome3. Everything finally working, then did the 3.13.0-34 update.
Screen flashes in graphics mode light, dark a few times. Returned to text mode, blank cursor top-left - sometimes white, sometimes orange. TTy terminals available. Rebooting with 3.13.0.32 doesn't help. Reinstalled without reformatting. No input devices available - keyboard/mouse light up but do nothing. 3.13.0.32 works but haven't installed anything special yet. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1357232 Title: linux-image-3.13.0-34-generic renders Asus K52N unbootable Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I just upgraded to latest released kernel for trusty and a K52N Asus laptop is unable to boot anymore: kernel crashes at startup.
