Hi jsalisbury, I tested the following kernels: 3.13 3.14 3.15 3.16.0-6 (actual) 3.16.0-999 (kernel.ubuntu.com - daily build)
The result is the same ... After a while it freezes. I have this bug for about two weeks but I can not say what is the update that would cause. I tried installing the latest drivers via the ppa free of Oibaf: http://ppa.launchpad.net/oibaf/graphics-drivers/ubuntu/ but the bug is still there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1349923 Title: Freeze pc Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: The bug is as follows: The whole system freezes except the mouse. After 5 seconds, the screen turns off as if he put on standby. After 20 to 30 seconds, in most cases, the screen turns back on and it is possible to resume the job. But sometimes, the screen comes back but the rest is still frozen and then the screen turns off again, on again and so on. In this case, a forced reboot is required. However, while the system is frozen, magic keys (reisub) are still functional. I noticed that this bug occurs mainly when I used my pc so active (file transfer, web browsing, video playback, etc). I left my pc on for several days without working on it and according to the system log, the bug has not manifested.
